How Long Do You Plan to Live?
Even though the average life expectancy
in the U. S. is only 78, many people are now living much longer. The
number of people over the age of 70 is the fastest growing segment of
our population. The number of people living to the age of 100 has quadrupled
since 1980. Today there are currently 80,000 centenarians and the U.
S. Census Bureau estimates that by the time the baby boom generation
reaches this milestone, there will be 4.2 million.
The Handwriting is on the Wall
We are being fore warned that most people
under the age of 50 will probably live another 30-50 years. If you are
under 30 you may very well live another 70-90 years
Quantity vs. Quality
We never know exactly how long we will live, however I ‘m sure everyone would like to be healthy and enjoy their life as long as possible. When today’s centenarians were born their life expectancy was only 5O. Not many reaching the age of 100 are in good health. Do you think if they knew they would live to be 100 they would have taken better care of their health?
It’s really not how long you live but
how well you live.
It’s Always About Choices
We can begin now to make our health a
priority and to make healthier lifestyle choices. As we age what we
value continues to change. Material wealth is not as important as feeling
well physically and having energy to enjoy what we love to do. Unfortunately
many people spend the first 50 years struggling to acquire material
wealth and lose their good health in the process. What good are material
things if you are too sick to enjoy them?
Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail
The point is, we need to realize that
we will continue to live longer and that we had better have a plan for
doing so. This is not only the wise thing to do for ourselves but it’s
also our obligation. Do we want to be a burden to our families as we
age? Do we want to be part of the health care, or should I say disease
care problem, that is plaguing our nation? I urge to give this some
thought.
Ageless Living to the Rescue
I have given this concept considerable thought for the past 10 years and realized that we needed a strategy that would be highly effective but it must be easy to fit into today’s busy schedules. Thus the Ageless Living Lifestyle was born. You can read and listen all about it on my web site www.AgelessLivingLifestyle.com
